Are you or someone you know, involved in a not-for-profit, community group or local government? Community Inclusion and Participation Grants of up to $50,000, managed in partnership with VisAbility, are now available.
Disability Services Minister Donna Faragher said the grants would fund projects or programs that created more inclusive communities for people with disability, their families and carers.
“Well-planned and accessible communities assist people with disability to have the same opportunities as others, and the grants program is designed to help with this,” Mrs Faragher said.
“There are many communities across the State wanting to include people with disability but they need funds to make necessary improvements.
“The grants can help local organisations develop more inclusive practices so people with disability can take part in local activities.
Grant applications would be assessed on a range of criteria, including improving the inclusion of people with disability and raising awareness related to access, inclusion and participation in the community. Now is the time to act if you would like to join in building a more diverse and fulfilling future for all.
An Information session is to be held from 2-3pm, 19th September 2016 at the Disability Services Commission, 146–160 Colin Street, West Perth. To RSVP and for access to the guidelines and application forms for the grant, please see the link below.
