We’re establishing Client and Carer Reference Groups so that we can find out what we’re doing well and how we could improve.
Clients, carers and their families are at the centre of everything we do and so it’s natural we want to receive your feedback – whether that’s good or bad. Your involvement allows us to deepen our knowledge and align our services to what suits your needs.
As an organisation some of our best connections are with the people at ground level who receive our service provision. Interactions with our clients mean you will have a better insight into our processes and gain valuable knowledge into the way we operate.
What are the Client and Carer Reference Groups?
These groups are newly-established to ensure VisAbility can be responsive. This means your skills and experiences count!
As an organisation which is ever evolving and expanding, we are setting up separate groups to accommodate our different clientele in Western Australia and Tasmania and this includes:
Moreover these groups will report directly to the Consumer Advisory Committee. They will play an important role with strategic decisions made at top level by the Board.
Wouldn’t you find it reassuring knowing that your actions and intentions are helping to shape our organisation as it moves forward?
The objectives of each group will be to:
- Offer members the opportunity so they can make valuable contributions regarding our services.
- Lead initiatives locally on issues which are important to you.
- Encourage and facilitate knowledge sharing.
- Create valuable client partnerships in order to strengthen communication.
- Obtain more involvement from clients and carers who have lived experience in the disability services sector.
- Suggest improvements and highlight areas of weakness and strengths.
What to do next?
If you’re interested and aged eighteen or over, let us know. Above all you must be able to commit to the meetings regularly. They’ll take place bi-monthly, that’s every two months via phone or Zoom. You’ll meet other clients, carers and family members, all from a variety of backgrounds of different ages.
