Are you missing your weekly community activity centre activities at the Perron Centre? We’re missing you too, so we’re thrilled to offer your favourite activities online.

Whether it’s pottery, mosaics, quizzes or a chat, we’ve got you covered. Have a look below at the full list with session times and details.

We hope you’ll come and join us from the comfort and safety of your home. All you need is a phone, tablet or laptop.

What’s on in WA

Art Project Group

Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays 9am – 12pm

Find out which art can be appreciated with low vision. Examples include felting, 3D sculpting, oil painting and other tactile forms of creative expression. It doesn’t matter if you have an artistic background or you are a complete beginner.

Book Club

Mondays 9am – 12pm

A reading group, usually consisting of a number of people who read and talk about books based on a topic or an agreed-upon reading list.

Cooking Chatter

Mondays 1pm – 3pm

Learn basic skills, recipes and meals along with tips on kitchen safety in a fun, friendly and informal atmosphere. This group is all about socialising and eating!

Discussion Group

Wednesdays 1pm – 3pm

Discussion of current affairs, points of interest, jokes, some quizzes and occasionally we host guest speakers on varied subjects.

Exercise Therapy

Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays 9am – 12pm and 1pm – 3pm. Note – Friday is morning group only.

Improve your level of strength, fitness and flexibility in a safe, fun and friendly atmosphere. Fully supervised by staff who specialise in working with people who are blind or vision impaired.

Italian Language

Tuesdays 9am – 12pm, Thursdays 1pm – 3pm

Italian is a beautiful and intricate language so why not say ‘Ciao’ to learning phrases and words.

Japanese Culture

Thursdays 9am – 12pm

Learn about the culture, arts, way of life, history and even language in an informal and friendly atmosphere.

Mental Focus

Thursdays 9am – 12pm

Join in a fun discussion group that engages your memory and thinking using various games, crosswords and quizzes to hone your thinking.

Men’s Interest Group

Tuesdays 1pm – 3pm

For this session it’s a males only invitation. Talk about sport, current affairs and your DIY queries.

Mosaics

Mondays and Tuesdays 9am – 12pm

Join us for a creative outlet. Popular past creations include mosaic house numbers, table tops, lazy susans, coat hangers and artwork.

Music Appreciation

Mondays 1pm – 3pm

We invite you to sit down, appreciate and discuss various types of music, composers, groups, singers etc. We’ll review some musical videos and occasionally hear from a musical guest.

Pottery

Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays 1pm – 3pm, Wednesdays 9am – 12pm

Being one of the most tactile forms of art, pottery is ideal for people who are blind or vision impaired. Popular project choices include earthenware crockery, animal figurines and busts.

R U OK Chats

Fridays 1pm – 3pm

How are you doing? This is an opportunity just to have a chat and talk about anything you want.

Scrapbooking

Mondays 9am – 12pm

A fun paper crafting experience with weekly themes guiding you to create beautiful crafts, cards and memory evoking pieces.

Woodwork

Tuesdays, Wednesdays 9am – 12pm, Wednesdays, Thursdays 1pm – 3pm

A creative outlet for both men and women to experience the joys of woodwork. You have the opportunity to learn new skills and create beautiful items such as bread boards, stools, blanket boxes and even cabinetry.
