Taking action over coronavirus (COVID-19)

A person's hands pressing down on a hand sanitizer unit Like everyone else at the moment, VisAbility is introducing measures to ensure the safety and protection of our clients during the coronavirus outbreak. We know that our senior clients or people with compromised immune systems are most at risk, so we are taking all the necessary steps to support people and keep COVID19 at bay.

We have cancelled large gatherings and events and in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak will look to reschedule these later in the year. Our therapists and assistive technology specialists will be sanitising and wiping down any equipment. This includes mobility canes, devices and living aids which are being used or demonstrated among clients.

Anyone visiting our Exercise Clinic will be asked to sanitise their hands on entry and departure and bring a towel for each session.

At Kites ToyBox (link opens in new window), only hard toys which can be wiped and disinfected will be available for loan and the touch table will be regularly disinfected.

If you would prefer not to attend a face-to-face meeting with our therapists, let us know as we can set up an E-Health appointment via video conferencing can be made available.

We will be following the Australian Government’s (link opens in new window) advice as part of the COVID-19 national response plan, keeping clients and staff updated regularly.

Of course, we want to keep our community safe, so let us know if you can help. Any updates will be distributed on the VisAbility website and our social media platforms.
