Have you ever dreamt of having a professional chef personally show you how to whip up an incredible meal? What about four chefs? Well VisAbility Community Activity Centre (CAC) clients were treated to just that – their very own Celebrity Masterclass! My Kitchen Rules celebrities Anna and Jordan Bruno, who last year were semi-finalists on the show, came to VisAbility with two of their colleagues, Chef Vincent Lim and Chef Stuart Laws, to prepare a delicious lunch earlier this month.

The 16 CAC clients at the Masterclass, ranging in age from 24 to 95 years of age, were thrilled to be given the chance to cook with the television stars. The happy group prepared a delicious lunch of crumbed chicken breast and seasoned wedges on a garden salad – all from scratch! They were guided by the chefs on how best to chop potatoes, assorted vegetables, and flatten and crumb chicken breast. A crowd favorite was the dessert; everyone enjoyed a treat of strawberries and ice cream.

The Celebrity Masterclass was a great success. The mood was light hearted, entertaining and all about learning, sharing and ‘having a go’. Anna was nice enough to field the many questions levelled at her by some hard-core fans of My Kitchen Rules. A positive experience was shared by all.

“They were an unbelievably gorgeous group of people displaying so much gratitude, it really was a humbling experience,” Jordan Bruno remarked on his Facebook page.

On behalf of VisAbility, we would like to wholeheartedly thank Chef Vincent for making this event possible and to Chef Laws, Anna and Jordan Bruno for their fantastic masterclass. Thanks also go to photographer Ryan Tran for providing pro-bono photographic support. Please visit our Facebook album here to see the beautiful photos from the Masterclass.
