Travel Passes for People with a Vision Impairment
Western Australians with a vision impairment may be eligible to apply for a Travel Pass at VisAbility.
What is a Travel Pass?
A Travel Pass allows a person with a vision impairment who meets the eligibility criteria to access a Travel Pass providing free public transport.
Travel Pass cardholders and their accompanying guide receive free transport on all TransPerth and TransWA services.
To be eligible, you must:
- Be at least 5 years of age; and
- Be able to provide a recent copy of your eye information from an ophthalmologist or optometrist.
- Be a permanent resident of WA.
To apply for a Travel Pass
Contact VisAbility on 08 9311 8202 or info@visability.com.au, and provide a signed copy of your most recent eye information from an ophthalmologist or optometrist. VisAbility will assess if the criteria have been met and pass your demographic details to Transperth. Transperth will post your Travel Pass to you within 30 business days.
If you have a Blind Pension Card or a Travel Card from another state that can be cited by a VisAbility staff member, this can also be used as an alternative to eye information.
To replace a Travel Pass
If you already have a Travel Pass but need a replacement, please contact Transperth directly on 13 62 13 to arrange.
