Beauty laid bare

Perth based Make-up Artist Vanessa Busby, has extensive make-up experience and this includes working with celebrities. She was selected to work on a location shoot with television presenter and former international model Amanda Lamb. Vanessa also worked her magic applying make-up on tennis champion Alicia Molik for her appearance at the Hopman Cup’s prestigious New Year’s Eve Ball. There’s a personal reason why she’s keen to get involved.

My Mother’s family have all had varying degrees of vision impairment, so it’s a subject close to my heart.

“Past experience has shown that vision loss isn’t a barrier to looking your best. Women need to be more confident in their approach to successfully applying make-up,” explains Vanessa.

“I love spending time with women and encouraging them to appreciate their beauty so they can look their absolute best,” she adds.

“Many people with vision impairment feel awkward about applying make-up, but they shouldn’t. With a little practice and getting someone to initially check what you’re doing, your confidence will soar.”

And a little known fact about Vanessa, she’s also a body artist but for this course she’ll concentrate on the face!

Colour and style

Joining Vanessa is Personal Colour and Image Consultant Kate Bird. Kate will be investigating style and colour palettes to suit skin type and hair colour.

“I’ve helped give countless women a fuel-injected boost of self-confidence by teaching them how to wear colours that make them look and feel fabulous,” explains Kate.
